1.  ASSOCIATE CHAPLAIN "ON CALL" ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION

 

1. Associate Chaplain is "On Call" unless they tell their Supervising Chaplain that
they are unavailable.

2. Emergency Call Outs will be made by the on-call Supervising Chaplain. The Supervising Chaplain will then call the Associate Chaplains needed and inform them
of the Emergency Call Out.

3. In all the activities that the Chaplains are involved in, they are to contact PCSO Dispatch (889-7870) and start a Chaplains Event and give their "One Charles"
number to the dispatch to ID yourself, when responding.

4. Chaplains will write an activity report at the end of each month logging their Chaplaincy activities and turn it into their Supervising Chaplain by the seventh of
each new month.

2.   RIDE A LONG INFORMATION

Things to know and do on your ride a long with any Police Unit:

1. Give Officer your 1 Charles Number.
2. Know your 10 codes.
3. Don't talk when the radio is talking.
4. Know where you are at, at all times. (Street Names)
5. Listen to the scanner to know what's happen around you.
6. Know how to operate the equipment inside the Police Unit.
        a. Radio
        b. Shot Gun Release & Shot Gun
        c. Sirens
        d. Spot Lights
        e. Scanner
7. Be prepared to help the Police Officer in "ANY" situation.
8. After each Emergency Call Out, ask dispatcher for the Event Number for your activity report.

4.  CHAPLAINCY CHAIN OF COMMAND FOR EMERGENCY CALL OUTS

Emergency call out / crisis response agency, i.e.: local P.D.

They call: Chaplain's Office or answering service: 663-2427

The answering service calls:

1. On call primary chaplain

Primary chaplain will:

1. Respond to call and/or:

2. Initiate call out of associate chaplain(s) needed.

At the scene:

1. Contact the officer in charge and/or the first chaplain on scene.

2. Be helpful

3. Contact the PCSO dispatch and give 1 Charles number.

After the response:

1. Contact dispatcher and ask for the event number.

2. Write up a summary as to what happened.

5.  LECPC SOBRIETY CHECK POINT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Report to the host law enforcement department for briefing.

2. Report to the officer or deputy in charge.

3. Call PCSO dispatch and ask them to start a chaplains event for the DUI checkpoint:

A. Identify yourself - One Charles number.
B. Give the location of the DUI checkpoint.

4. Help set up cones, lights, coffee, etc...

5. The main function for the chaplains at the DUI checkpoints is to transport passengers of the arrested people to their home, when the car they are riding in has been impounded.

A. The officer or deputy will ask you to take a person home.
B. Ask this person for name and address. If the person is a juvenile also ask his or her age.
C. Call PCSO dispatch:

(1) identify yourself.
(2) tell them you are transporting a person to (give address). If it is a female say, "I am transporting a "x" to, and give address. Or, "I am transporting a juvenile to, and give address."
(3) give your starting mileage to the dispatcher.

D. At your destination, ask to use the telephone.

(1) call PCSO dispatch
(2) identify yourself
(3) give your ending mileage to the dispatcher.

           E. Return to the DUI checkpoint.
